St. Bernards Behavioral Health offers private, not-for-profit, hospital-owned mental and behavioral health services. Located in Jonesboro, Arkansas two distinctly separate entities, St. Bernards Behavioral Health Services and St. Bernards Counseling Center, fall under the Behavioral Health umbrella, together offering a complete continuum of therapy services.
The 60-bed licensed acute care psychiatric unit provides treatment for adult and geriatric patients that suffer from mental health disorders. In order to provide superior care to our patients in a safe and comfortable setting the adults and geriatrics are segregated into two separate areas of the unit with 32 beds allocated for the adult population (18 to 64) and 28 beds for the geriatric population (65 and over). Our highly skilled and comprehensive staff including three on site Psychiatrists, nurses and licensed therapists develop treatment plans for patients on an individual basis always with regard for dignity and privacy.
St. Bernards Counseling Center located at 615 East Matthews in Jonesboro offers outpatient counseling and a variety of therapy options for individuals of all ages, including after-care for former Behavioral Health Patients. With two Psychiatrists, a Psychologist, four Master’s level therapists and a case manager on staff, St. Bernards Counseling Center can provide a very comprehensive and thorough continuum of care.
St. Bernards Counseling Center offers an Intensive Outpatient Program which is comprehensive and highly individualized program for individuals with alcohol and drug problems that do not require inpatient care. The sixteen-week program goes beyond regular outpatient therapy enabling participants to get the help they need while living at home and continuing employment.
An Employee Assistance program (EAP) is also available through St. Bernards Counseling Center. EAP is an employer funded benefit that provides employees and their families with private face-to-face counseling services. St. Bernards EAP provides support to these in dealing with everyday problems excessive stress, parenting issues or divorce. Currently St. Bernards EAP contracts with 40 companies in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri and covers around 38,000 lives.

Members of St. Bernards Behavioral Health Services Speaker’s Bureau are available to address both community and professional groups to educate audiences on behavioral and mental health issues, treatment options and other services available through St. Bernards Behavioral Health. We ask that you give us two to three weeks advanced notice in scheduling a speaker.
