Lab Services
- St. Bernards Laboratory Department operates with the latest, state-of-the-art equipment that enables our experienced staff to handle a high volume of procedures with speed and accuracy. A large variety of specialized laboratory services are provided in-house at St. Bernards. They include Histology, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Specimen Processing, Phlebotomy, Serology and TB Fungus.
- SBMC Department of Laboratory Services is licensed by the State Department of Health Services and participates in inspection and accreditation programs conducted by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks. The laboratory participates in a broad range of Proficiency Testing surveys. Each section within the department has extensive internal and external quality control programs, which meet and/or exceed all current federal and state requirements.
- Laboratory services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include the assistance of Sarah Tonin, a HelpMate robot who serves as a courier freeing our lab specialists to focus on other areas of patient care.
