Family members and friends of St. Bernards patients who have been organ donors gathered at St. Bernards June 20 for a special dedication ceremony of a new Wall of Heroes.
The area, created near the medical center’s intensive care unit as a tribute to those who have been organ donors, contains black and white photographs of donor patients placed around a stylized heart and the words “Wall of Heroes.”
The dedication of the Wall of Heroes followed an outside ceremony during which Mid America Transplant Services and St. Bernards raised a flag recognizing the medical center and honoring families who play important roles in being sure healthy organs can be used to save lives others.
