Runway To the Cure Set for July 21

Tickets are available to the fifth annual Runway to the Cure Fashion Show & Luncheon planned for Thursday, July 21, at St. Bernards Auditorium. The event will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Arkansas and will celebrate the lives of women who have battled breast cancer.

Twenty-two Northeast Arkansas models – including 11 women who are breast cancer survivors – will take to the runway in two outfits each. One will be casual, while the other will be dressy or formal. All clothing, accessories and make-up will be provided by Dillard’s, with the models having selected styles they consider appropriate for themselves.

Not only will there be missy and women’s clothing shown, but also men’s styles and even some children’s clothing should tempt shoppers.

One of the highlights of this year’s show will be the unveiling of the 2011 Pink Warriors T-shirts. Members of the Foundation of the Arts Curtain Up Kids will model both the Pink Warriors (the women’s version) shirt and the Pink Warriors Three Miles of Men shirts, giving luncheon attendees a sneak peek at attire for this year’s St. Bernards Pink Warriors team at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Arkansas Race for the Cure in Little Rock in October.

Tickets are $25 per person or $160 for a table of eight if purchased by July 15 and $30 each or $175 after that date. They may be purchased from the St. Bernards Development Foundation office at 400 East Street or on line at www.StBernardsFoundation.org or www.stbernards.info (then click on the St. Bernards Development Foundation on the right side of the page).

Proceeds from the annual event benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Arkansas, an organization that provides grants to St. Bernards to help provide breast health education and services to qualifying women. Komen grants help St. Bernards provide mammograms, breast ultrasounds and breast biopsies to Arkansas women who have no insurance.

St. Bernards Healthcare, Dillard’s and Jonesboro Occasions are presenting sponsors for the 2011 version of Runway for the Cure. The event is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held at St. Bernards Auditorium.
