St. Bernards and the Tobacco Free Coalition of Craighead County will sponsor an educational booth at The Mall at Turtle Creek from 2:30 to 4:30 on Thursday, Feb. 23 as a part of the Great American Spit Out.
St. Bernards Smoking Cessation Coordinator Jessica Weems and St. Bernards Community Educator Amanda McMillon will have educational props that show the damage that smokeless tobacco and cigarettes cause.
The team will be located at center court at the mall and will have information on how to quit tobacco use and will distribute tobacco cessation “survival kits.”
The Great American Spit Out is a February annual event and is designed to raise awareness of the dangers associated with smokeless tobacco.
