St. Bernards Observes Day of the Sick

St. Bernards Medical Center hosted a special service Thursday (Feb. 11) as part of a worldwide request from Pope Benedict XVI to observe World Day of the Sick. The Olivetan Benedictine sisters of Holy Angels Convent who staff the Pastoral Care Department set up a display by the chapel and invited employees and hospital visitors to stop by during the day and submit in writing names of individuals for whom they would like to have special prayers. A brief prayer service was held Thursday morning, but the display stayed up throughout the day. St. Bernards was one of many institutions that are members of the Catholic Health Association that took part in the global observance.
