Home Sleep Testing is sometimes ordered by the sleep physician for patients meeting criteria for this device. This FDA-approved wireless ambulatory sleep test device is used for diagnosing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) while sleeping in your own bed. St. Bernards Sleep Disorder Center is happy to offer this service.
This device is worn on the forehead, and is usually worn for one night. The small size allows the device to be comfortably worn in all sleep positions.
The sleep device provides a better profile of the patient's breathing during sleep in their normal sleeping environment. The device collects physiological data while the patient is asleep, and integrates the data with clinical history and physical data to determine presence and severity of OSA. After the data is downloaded, one of our Board Certified Sleep Physicians will interpret the sleep study, and recommend therapy and follow-up.
This type of study improves diagnostic speed and accuracy and increases patient comfort. In these challenging economic times, it also creates an effective, low-cost alternative to the current sleep-testing solutions available.
